Christmas Flash Fiction Fantasia…(subs wanted!)

Summer is finally here and to kick things off let’s all celebrate National Flash Fiction Day on 21 June 2014! Coinciding with the summer solstice, the annual event is now in its third year and sees a number of events run throughout the UK.

To gChristmas Flash Fiction Fantasiaet in the spirit, submissions to our next collection are set to open 21 June and run until 1 October 2014. This time the call is for, you guessed it, flash fiction!

Just as British summer starts to heat up we’re cooling things down with a callout for a Christmas collection! We’re looking for flash fiction stories of between 500-1500 words and the theme is fantasia. The stories need not be strictly Christmasy or traditionally festive but should at least hint at the season. However, should you wish to go all tinsel and figgy pudding then that’s okay, too. Make of it what you will!

DEADLINE is 1 October 2014. Publication will be in print and ebook editions in late November. Payment is £3 per flash by PayPal only. Please see full guidelines. Your submission indicates acceptance of the guidelines and terms and conditions.

To further get in the spirit of celebrating the short story’s shortest form, Chuffed Buff Books is also running a Kindle promotion on two of our titles which contain short stories as well as a number of flash fiction!

You, Me & a Bit of We, and Sunday Snaps: the Stories, will be available from Amazon.co.uk for 99p (and the USD equivalent on Amazon.com) for the whole week. That’s less than a quid, folks! The print editions are also available via amazon. Sunday Snaps: the Stories in all its full colour glory is currently £6.87 and You, Me & a Bit of We can be had for £8.99 with, of course, the usual free supersaver delivery from Amazon.

Happy reading, happy writing and happy National Flash Fiction Day!
